Built in 1869, on what was then the racecourse of the Liverpool Hunt Club, Hoylake is the oldest of all the English seaside courses with the exception of Westward Ho! in Devon, which was established just a few years earlier. Robert Chambers and George Morris were commissioned to lay out the original Hoylake course, which was extended to 18 holes in 1871. This was also the year in which the Club was granted its Royal designation thanks to the patronage of His Royal Highness The Duke of Connaught.
The first time that the Open Golf Championships was held at Royal Liverpool, Hoylake was is 1897. Since then it has hosted the tournament 10 times, with Rory McIlroy becoming Champion on this last occasion in 2014.

Venue for The Open Championship in 2012 and the Walker Cup in 2015, Royal Lytham & St Annes Golf Club was founded in 1886 and the present Course constructed in 1897. The Clubhouse celebrated its Centenary in 1998. Royal Lytham and St. Annes is one of the premier links courses in the world, host to eleven Open Championships, two Ryder Cups and numerous other major tournaments including the Women’s and Seniors Open Championships and the Walker Cup in 2015. Northern hospitality has always been famous and Royal Lytham leads the way.

Royal Musselburgh Golf Club is at the start of the famous stretch of golf courses on the East Lothian coast, situated to the east of Musselburgh on the B1361, this picturesque parkland course is certainly worth the visit.
The Club is the sixth oldest in the world originating at the 9 hole Musselburgh Levenhall links where the Honourable Company of Edinburgh Golfers, Royal Burgess Golfing Society and Bruntsfield Golf Club also played.
Pride of place in the Royal Musselburgh is the Old Club Cup dating back to 1774, the oldest trophy still competitively played for in the world.
Only half of the available Old Course Tee Times can be booked in advance with the other tee times are allocated to ‘The Ballot’ system. The Ballot is essentially a raffle… Golfers must enter the ballot by 2pm, (minimum of 2 & maximum of 4 players) 48 hours before they would like to play and the results are published at 4.30pm on the same day.
As part of your Royal Tour Package for the Open Championships 2018, our team will enter you into the Old Course Ballot. If successful, you will be able to enjoy 18 holes on the Old Course instead of playing Royal Musselburgh. However, please note that a £100pp supplement will apply if you are successful in the Ballot.
